KUNMING, CHINA, April 30, 2010 - MicroConstants China Inc., a Contract Research Organization (CRO) specializing in preclinical and clinical pharmacokinetics contract research, announces the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Kunming Institute of Zoology (KIZ), Chinese Academy of Science. The agreement will establish a new Technology Commercialization Center of Kunming Institute of Zoology and designates MicroConstants China as the project manager for the development and out-licensing of KIZ’s novel drug candidates globally.

With this agreement, MicroConstants China will be responsible for managing KIZ’s’ drug development activities and establishing out-licensing opportunities for KIZ’s lead drug candidates. Over the next two years, MicroConstants China will also be overseeing the implementation of a USFDA GLP-compliant quality system at KIZ’s Primate Research Center. Dr. Q. Professor Yaping Zhang, the president of Kunming Institute of Zoology and a member of the Chinese Academy of Science, has great expectations for the collaboration. “We are very impressed with MicroConstants’ extensive experience in global drug development and established network with pharmaceutical companies worldwide. I am very confident that this collaboration will benefit KIZ as well as the entire China biotech community by helping move drug candidates closer to market in China, as well as in the United States.”

Dr. Q. David Yang, chief executive officer of MicroConstants China, is very excited about the signing of the agreement. “The collaboration with KIZ will give MicroConstants China access to the best managed non-human primate research center in China to offer pharmacokinetics (PK) studies, toxicology studies, and pharmacology testing of drugs in non-human primates to our clients,” said Dr. Yang. “It will allow us to provide integrated preclinical and clinical contract research services to both domestic and international pharmaceutical companies and research institutes.”
